my kind of relaxing

Wearing comfy clothes. Looking out my window at the last few leaves on the trees. Spreading out my coloured pencils, stamps, papers and ribbons. Listening to Bon Jovi's "(You Want To) Make A Memory" and "What I Cannot Change" by LeAnn Rimes over and over. Making cards and feeling very relaxed.

Laundry can wait.

(Erin, I know you'll be seeing this one of these days and so I certainly haven't forgotten that this card design is yours from my first card class with you at Paper Pals. Thanks for all the ideas...!)

first day of work!

So I gotta get going...!

fall, family, and yes, even pictures of me!

Yes, I know much of my blogging has centered around food, fabrics, and photos and many of you may wonder, "Where is Cass?". Well to be honest, I haven't really felt like being showcased in many photos lately but it's sweater season now (which I love!) and so I feel much more comfortable trying to strike a pose in a wool cardie rather than a summer tee. Silly, yes, but bear with me.

Sam's parents drove out from Vancouver Island to visit us for the past 5 days and we've had a great time together. And we are certainly enjoying the chance to show off our new (first!) home to family. Which they have heartily admired and approved of. Sam and his dad have been very busy tackling various projects around the house and up in the gutters while Diane and I have spent a few afternoons making cards, going to craft shows, shopping, and making time for plenty of coffee breaks! The weather has been wonderful, lovely and crisp and mostly clear and sunny except for one dreary day. Sigh, I so love the fall. We're so glad they came out all this way to see us --- so thanks, Mom and Dad!

{I'm off to my first day of work tomorrow morning at 9am ... Very exciting!}
