boxing day = relaxation

Well, Christmas is over and it's been a lovely week, just the three of us. The fridge is stuffed with all the leftovers from my successful turkey dinner, the remaining meat and stock is bubbling on the stove, I'm listening to my new Bon Jovi CD and I can hear Sam trying in vain to keep Sophie away from the Christmas tree, which amazingly she didn't discover until a few nights ago! I insisted Sam watch The Holiday with me on Christmas Eve as I knew there would be a 'boy movie' in his stocking the next day, and I was in a Kate Winslet sort of mood anyways {she's my favorite!}. We drank lots of yummy Starbucks coffee, gin and tonics, cookies and chocolate sticks, talked to our families, slept in, and snuggled into The Chair to read our new books. A perfect relaxing break from work and a happy time just to be together.
I hope everyone had as wonderful of a Christmas season as we did ... and I hope to see some of your pictures too!

Great pics. You look comfy in your chair :) I think we have the same coffeemaker - that wouldn't be surprising, now would it??

Dear Cass and Sam,
Yes, it does look like a very restful and relaxing few days that you have had. We have been so busy here with the 3 little ones and their toys and their their singing and dancing and game playing. The kitchen has never been so bustling with crackers and cheese, pickles, and main dishes by the dozens , pies by the plateful and wine by the glassesful. The washer and drier have been churning away as well. The hottub, the whirltub, thegolf gizzmo, the battery operated tools and the computers have been overloading all cricuits. Grandma and Granddad arecertainly having alot of fun.Hope you got our pictures.
Love to you all, Mom and Dad M

Cass! Your blog is freaking me out...you must be a kindrid spirit...Sophie was always my dream name for my first daughter (although Elsie won out after much deliberation). I ALSO have the new Bon Jovi CD and LOVE it, I also have the Starbucks holiday CD and the whole Sarah McLachlan Christmas CD called Wintersong thanks to the song she sang on the Starbucks one...so weird. Oh ya...I love gin and tonics and starbucks coffee too....Strange, yet cool.
Your kitty is so cute! I wish Elsie could grow up with a kitten but I have too many step-cats as it is!
Your Christmas pictures are so vivid and pretty and it sounds like you had a great Christmas! It sounds like it was peaceful and sweet.Merry, merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to both of you...Love from, Chey. xoxo
