We are home together now and tonight our boy Henry is a week old. Trying hard to get through each day and yet wanting to remember and savour how little and precious he is
right now. Henry's had quite a week ... coming home with his Mum and Dad, meeting Sophie for the first time, trying out a soother and just not being able to keep it in too long, screaming through his first "home bath" but loving the comfy towel at the end, sleeping in his new crib, calming down once hearing Daddy hum the Star Wars theme songs, finally sleeping in 3 and 4 hour stints the past few nights, watching Mum cry 'cause she loves him so much, giving his parents quite the lesson in all things breastfeeding including 2 return visits to the hospital to get help from Nurse Jane, dealing with his first eye infection, meeting all of Mum's friends from work, and treating his Dad to all the really messy, smelly, blowout poops!

what a special week....i love this post so much!
so many pictures...so many comments to make....
how darling is the chocolate brown toque on that little head, and how sweet is the photo of henry snuggled up in the towel...oh i just want to kiss those little cheeks {sigh}...and oh how i love the one of him screaming in the bath as if to say...this is out of control mom!...and then your new babe tucked in daddy's arms...so small, so precious! great photos....glad you are making use of your new camera! so nice to see you at the office today...your boy is just so sweet!
Holy moley, that is one HUGE soother!!! What a great group of pictures. Thanks for keeping us updated. We'll be praying for you through these weeks of heavy adjustment....
So exciting to see the photos! I really and truly giggled when I saw your new post, I was so excited.
I hear ya on the breastfeeding, it is HARD but you will get the hang of it. I struggled through the first few weeks. It seemed like as soon as I finished feeding him, it was time to feed him again. Now he is down to 10-15 mins on each side and it didn't take long to get there...he eats like a champ :) There's nothing like eating at mom's!
I am soooo glad to see that cute little blankie getting a lot of use! Brady loves his blue version!
How are YOU? Healing okay from your c-section? I'm hoping to hear your birth story someday...but no rush...just snuggle with that little guy. Tears fall here as well on a regular basis when I thank the Lord for such a wonderful gift.
Yay for Henry! He is so precious. :-) Thanks for taking the time to post pictures. I'm praying for you guys as you adjust to the joy of a new baby. And a tip for any future eye infections - breastmilk is the best cure for that I've seen (in the 7 babies I've had, anyway). :-)
God Bless you three!
Do you have the babywise book? ;-)I lived by that book I tell ya! Sleeping through the night at 5 weeks!!
Great pictures, thanks for putting them on, I know it was not a small feat with all you are doing now:)!
Looking forward to your "whole birth story" as well;0)!! But yes, no rush:))
Love,
Kari

Three cheers for daddy Sam...Isn't wonderful to have such an involved daddy?!! I don't know what I would have done without him. How long does he get to stay home? I'm so glad you're posting loads of photos...it feels like we're getting the play by play. Keep it coming...and yes, please do share your birth story!!!
Love and hugs to you and your precious boy!
beautiful photos and beautiful explanation of this first special week! I wish I had been better about writing about how I felt about things when my kids were born!
I had BIG troubles with breastfeeding too ... long story on that point but just do what you can and don't stress if it doesn't work out.
Hope you are healing well from your c-section and getting enough rest.
