Yesterday my niece Isla turned 2 and she was finally able to unwrap my love gift to her. A gift perfect for playtime with that special dolly and a certain two year old who is just about to welcome a baby sister to the family. I had been thinking of this idea for the past year and I really had such a good time creating and sewing the quilt, though of course I left it to the last minute before bringing it out on our trip to BC. I bought a simple doll bed from IKEA and then promptly threw away the sad sheet and mattress they provided. No fun or imagination or coziness there. Instead I put together this pretty patchwork of reds and greens and brown rabbits, with a fluffy homemade mattress and pillow to match.
A beautiful homemade doll bed for my sister's beautiful daughter. I love you Isla Rose. And I really can't wait to meet your sister!
