grandma's here!

Grandma is visiting this week from Kelowna and so we've (I've) been enjoying a slightly different schedule of sorts, with another in the house. Sam and I even jumped at the chance of an in-house babysitter to take off right away on Sunday for an overnighter to Medicine Hat ... lots of shopping, food, movies, Starbucks in the morning, more shopping and the peace and quiet of a hotel room. That quiet and the lack of responsibility was a great luxury in itself and it might have been my favorite thing of our getaway. No wait, maybe it was just being able to walk into a Starbucks for my morning latte. Hmm, maybe it was eating supper at Moxies as where we live, believe me, we only have crap restaurants. Or buying a whole armload of desperately needed clothes. Or leaving the movie theatre and reaching over to hold Sam's hand just like we used to on going-out-dates. Any way you look at it, it's been 9 months since our last time alone and we really, really enjoyed it. So thanks, Mum!
