Valentines was fun this year for me, as the boys are aware of the holidays now and want to help make them special. I wish I had remembered to take a photo of their school Valentines as I was especially proud of those ... happy too to be able to use up the
"With love from Henry and Walter" labels I had made up when it was just the two of them. They sure came in handy during this one and only time they would be in the same class together! We decorated heart sugar cookies the day before and it was less of a sprinkle disaster than previous years so having them a little older made that more enjoyable for me too. I made a chocolate cake for Sam as he has been dropping none-too-subtle hints lately as to how long it's been since we've had a cake ... so that an easy gift! Store bought pizza with extra toppings, homemade cake and Sam's homemade ice cream for dessert made it a perfect dinner. I spent the day decorating the kitchen too while Henry kept jumping up and down and yelling "You're the best Mum ever!" as apparently a party isn't complete without decorations. I also typed up verbatim what everyone said about why they loved the others and Sam read those out at supper, a new yearly tradition I think. Sam got me up dancing to a cheesy (but awesome) 80's love song and the boys were fascinated by that ... I even heard Henry wondering if there would be more after supper again the next night! We were surprised by a fruit bouquet delivery from Grandma and Grandpa and a felt pizza making kit from Nana and Grandad so it proved to be an extra special day for everyone. Valentines Day with my 4 boys ... easily pleased with garlands strung throughout the kitchen, chocolate cake, heart shaped pineapple pieces, love notes to read and homemade handprinted cards.
