full circle

My very first post in this blog way back in 2007 was a picture of our newly purchased house in Swift Current. And as hoped for, I did indeed bring three brand new babies home to that lovely green and white house. Some of you are probably assuming we sold it long ago but no ... today was the day. After being on the market for 19 months and living empty since March 2012 we have finally, finally, finally sold it. What a ___________ that was ... I don't know, there's so many words to fill in the blank. Right now it feels a little anti climatic but now and then I'll remember that we're not waiting for anything else. Trying more options. Crunching more numbers. Needing more paperwork. At noon today someone else took the keys and walked into their newly purchased house.

I hope they are good to her. And I hope they'll be happy. I hope they don't wear muddy shoes on the carpet upstairs. And I hope they know I didn't leave my brand new red postbox for them willingly.

Goodbye dear house. The three babies we brought home will not remember you ... but I will never forget all the memories you gave us.

Beautifully written, Cass. It's a gorgeous old house. So glad for you that it's finally sold and you can start looking for a long-term home here!

Now for the next chapter xx
