After a great, and very busy, last month of school ... we've just finished a pretty memorable, and very busy, first week of summer holidays. Admittedly I have a hard time with summer holidays as I'm usually on my own apart from Sam's few weeks of holidays, I crave the routine of the school year and
I really, really dislike the heat! And the heat of this past week leading into July has been a doozy! Sigh. But I think it's been a fun beginning week for the three Morgan boys. They've got life pretty good, that's for sure! We started out with a celebratory ice cream party with our pastor, his family and another couple. Great friends and massive sundaes all round ... it was awesome. This week we've also pulled out the water guns, put away a bunch of toys, brought out some new books (all Henry wants to do is read all.the.time!!), swam like crazy at Grade 1 friends birthday parties, watched Mary Poppins for the first time, picked blue- and rasp-berries by the bucketful, and donned our Canada shirts for a day and night out on the town to celebrate Canada Day. We stayed at a hotel last night so that we could just pop outside and watch the fireworks in the Harbour after the boys already slept a few hours. And kids are easy to please when there's a pool-playing, restaurant-eating, one room-sleeping hotel adventure to be had! I even had a few hours to myself as Sam took the boys to their soccer camp in the morning while I stayed til check out with my room service breakfast. Sam and Walter are now prepping for their camping night away ... so really, the fun never stops around here! Summer has arrived in full force and hopefully we have a good balance of busy, organized and lazy, free play. Whatever happens ... each night they're falling into bed pretty exhausted!

Flag waiving, berry picking, super soaker grandsons - could not ask for more! Glad you boys are doing lots - plus camping with Dad. Enjoy - and thanks Cass.
