he's now four and he's now three

I like birthdays and I like to make my boys' birthdays special. And so today we celebrated Henry's 4th birthday and Walter's 3rd (a little early as his is actually October 2nd) ... our little boys who are brothers and best friends to each other. Being 12 months and 2 days apart certainly has its benefits! And, oh, they were so very excited this year. The first year they really got it, and Walter even more so than Henry. My sister and Isla came over from Vancouver for the quickest of quick visits and my old friends Joy and Lorna (they're actually sisters themselves) brought 1 husband and 3 kids from their bunches too. Plus Nana and Grandad of course, who let me take over the house for all the preparations. Fun to shift from parties with Swift Current friends to parties with family and "since we were 16 years old" friends this year. Amazing to find ourselves in this short span of life with a full family of three boys and I know that every year is just going to get more and more fun. Making my boys' birthdays special. With cakes or cupcakes and lots of swirled-up, sprinkled-on, sweet-toothed icing! Happy Birthday Henry and Walter ... your Dad and I love to remember all those best first moments from 4 years and 3 years ago.

I missed a great party - Henry & Walter - wished we were there. So happy your friends and Isla made it though! Happy 3rd & 4th!

Thanks for including us in this special day! We've watched the boys' birthday parties from afar and now we get to participate!
