spring break = swings, sticks and swans

So when did Spring Break become two weeks long?

We sussed out a new park today along the Gorge Waterway which I had seen many times on our drives home. Thankfully I knew enough to bring their wellies as once they were done in the playground Henry and Walter made a beeline for the water's edge. Almost immediately the two resident swans glided right up to them, each pair having a look at the other. Sticks were found, mud was poked and water splashed ... and really, that's all they needed for a hour's worth of boy-friendly fun!

It's not spring break in my school district until next week! Victoria and Saanich each voted for two weeks, but Sooke district's just one. Pfft.

I love the Gorge Waterway. I should come along and walk it with you sometime...

We're not on Spring Break until the 23rd, but if your boys want to explore the farm or any other great spots in Courtenay, you're welcome to come for a visit!
