Except for the trim and moldings, we are done ... but that's a big "except for"! And we won't be able to get to that finicky last detail until towards the end of August, I'm sure, as there's just too much on the go til then. My parents arrive tomorrow for a visit, on their way back home to BC as Dad is done, done, done with the bank (retired after 41 years!) and so their time in the North is completed. And for those of you who call Canada the Great White North, well, it was certainly true in their case! yikes.
But I promise, we will not be one of those households who leaves those last renovation details til they're just about to move and sell the house! Quite a few people have had a chuckle already here assuming we'll do just that. Trim and moldings will be done well before Baby comes so that we can move completely back in upstairs and I can organize, organize, organize to my heart's content. {Ah, my scrapbooking has been calling me ... it's been agony without!}
So for now, the wonderful IKEA wardrobe is up and functioning beautifully. (5 doors to be put on soon.) New light and fan and a new duvet and comforter set for our new grown up room. Gone is Sam's bachelor set. So lovely. So light and duvet-y and plush hotel-like.
And I won't forget a full set of before and after photos once we're well and truly done. I promise.

Wow! That looks great! We live in an older home too and our bedroom closet is about the size of a small coat closet. This is a great idea.
Looks great!!! Love the paint color and the closet - looks super organized and just plain lovely.
Wait a minute...is that "What to Expect" that I see sitting on the dresser???
yeesh, it took me THIS long to realize that i could subscribe to your blog! =P i LOVE your wardrobe!!! and i'm amazed at all the renovations you've done to your house - jason was bummed he couldn't do it all himself but with the baby already here, we just wanted to move in asap! =P congrats mama! can't wait to see baby morgan! =)
Yes, Ange, that is "What to Expect ..." on my dresser - a lady from work passed it on to me and I didn't have the heart to refuse it, but it will be included in our garage sale next month.
I browsed through it and that confirmed how much of a non-fan I was of it's philosophies and "help".
But each to his own ... if someone else benefitted from reading it, then that's great!
hee hee hee :)
I thought that was the case! I have it but really have only read about how the baby was growing in each month and what is happening to my body. I haven't perused it much further than that! Then again I have an ancient copy that Jason got for free at work - I'm pretty sure much of the advice is dated anyway!
looks great...all the hard work pays off in the end!!!
Hey wanna come design my house...i need some help with colours!!!
