celebrating that middle day again

Like I said ... we are in birthday party season around here! And this week we are celebrating our 12 month and 2 day apart boys: Henry turned 5 yesterday and Walter will be 4 tomorrow. Something I'm sure you could guess on your own from their new birthday shirts! (They were/are pretty excited to wear those to school on their real birth-days.) Saturday was their joint birthday party and even though our outdoor plans were quite literally dampened we all squished in the house instead and had lots of fun and noise there. Sam's parents came down from Duncan, my parents, my sister and her two girls came over from Vancouver and our new friends here in town Heather and Chris brought over their cutie girlies. 7 kids five and under ... and they all loved it. It was so fun just to watch Felix running from room to room, laughing at everyone and getting lots of hugs and attention from every family member. It was really special to have their cousins Isla and Eden here as they are the boys' very favourite friends and having these birthday parties all together is important to my sister and I. It was just a simple time of playing, opening presents, pizza and cake but it was enough that they felt special and important and loved. A 4 and a 5 year old now ... life just keeps on getting better and better.
