We spent Thanksgiving Sunday up in Duncan with Sam's parents (remember, where we lived for 9 months last year?) and also Sam's brother and his family over for the weekend from Vancouver. It felt like the first time these cousins really honestly
enjoyed each other and that was so fun for everyone to watch unfold. Nana had organized a backyard Halloween candy hunt (independent Henry did not do well with that, sigh, til we tried again with some extra candy hidden a second time) and there was a serious soccer game for Grandad, the uncles and all the cousins stopping and starting throughout the afternoon. Felix refused to nap as he didn't want to miss any fun (first time for that!) but he made it through just fine til we left about 7pm. Turkey supper was delicious as always and we also had pie
and chocolate cake for dessert to celebrate Grandad's birthday that week. The kids all insisted he was 80 years old, ha! It was a good day, a comfortable, relaxing, food-filled day with almost all of Sam's family ... ending in lots of hugs for everyone around the room when it came time to leave.
