at nana and grandad's

We spent almost 2 weeks with Sam's parents on Vancouver Island (where we consider home) and it was so nice to just settle in for that amount of time, giving Nana and Grandad lots of Henry-lovin'-time. They haven't seen him since he was 3 months old at Christmas and it was long overdue that they have the chance to understand and interact with his growing and funny personality now at 10 months. We arrived at the beginning of a strong heat wave and boy, was this pregnant Mumma feeling it! So there was lots of pool and water time for everyone understandably. Sam got in quite a few rounds of golf with his Dad and I had some fun shopping days and resting days and sewing days and reading days and even a girls getaway up-Island with Joy and Lorna. We went to my cousin Melina's wedding in Victoria and saw lots of my Mum's side of the family, went out to Shawnigan Lake for a great visit, swim, and meal with Sam's Auntie Margaret, Uncle Adair, Nic, Mac and their girlfriends, and Sam and I even enjoyed a real date night out for a fancy anniversary dinner ... first time someone else put our boy to bed and apparently he was a perfect angel for Nana and Grandad that night. (Thank you, Henry!) Sam's parents will be out to visit in October to help with Henry and meet the Baby and then we'll be back to the Coast at Christmas again ... so thankfully not too long this time between visits.

Aren't you relived when your child behaves better for friends/family than they do at home?? Yeah for Henry! Glad the trip went so well and you had some time with the girls. Will you fly or drive at Christmas?
