We made it to Sam's parents house on the 29th and had a few days there. So nice to be back in Duncan. Relaxing, reading, soaking in the hot tub, seeing a few friends, eating lots of good meals (a yummy turkey dinner our first day and a summer salmon feast on New Years Eve!), playing Scrabble of course, going for walks down Townend Rd of course of course, and giving Nana and Grandad lots of time to get to know Henry better. And he didn't disappoint, the wee charmer! Henry stuck to his nap schedule perfectly and even pulled out a few nights of 10 hour sleeps, which now have continued even coming home with an 11 hour sleep last night, adjusting to the time difference again. We were able to use our Baby Bjorn carrier for the walks and the mitts and fur hat that my Mum got him while they lived up North ... and so of course I was snapping away dozens of pictures as he's just never looked quite as cute as he does in that hat! {Thanks Mum!} He had quite a good sleep then too, bobbing up and down in Daddy's arms.
We are taking off Henry's last cast tonight (6 in total and this last one was on for 3 weeks) with Rubber Ducky and a celebratory song to mark the occasion. We're so proud of our boy ... he's been so good through all this and has never been bothered in the slightest by this huge weight on one leg. We're transitioning now to the Boots-and-Bar contraption for the next 3 months fulltime to set his foot in place and so we'll be up in Saskatoon tomorrow to have that fitted and for our surgeon to check out how his foot healed from the tendon snip a few weeks ago. So back on the road again already!
Enjoy all the photos and make sure to scroll down for lots of Christmas photos too with my family. Are all my readers away on holidays still or maybe there's just no comment-ers?! (oh subtle, Cass, subtle ...) Another blog with friends photos to come soon, as we were able to visit quite a few of you! {But one I missed especially because of the snowy roads ... I'm so sorry our plans didn't work out, Joy!}
