We're now sharing house with this future sports 'boarder' ... certainly something we're getting used to this week. But like each step before in this process, Henry has taken to his Boots and Bar quite easily and without much complaint ... though we've learned to give him his soother to distract him when putting his boots back on after his bath. And the sheer joy in his eyes as he stretches out and flexes his toes after I pull his foot loose for his hour of freedom in the evenings ... it's priceless. And a little heartbreaking for me too. I wish we didn't have to do this at all, but I know it's what's needed now and it's what will set his monkey foot for good. For a lifetime of soccer playing with his Dad ... when he'll have no recollection of the months of casts and the years of wearing Mr Boots.
And he'll wonder why he's so naturally good at snowboarding. Or surfing. Like Uncle Cale.

What a blessing that you are able to take care of all this now while he is so little. We are blessed to live in such a medically advanced age, aren't we?
wow, it is a alot of work for you right now to look after Henry and his "boot and bar", but as Amy H said it is a blessing to live in such a medically advanced age.
Have a good weekend!
How heartbreaking for you, Cass. It is amazing and wonderful that they can get him all fixed up while he is so little, but I know that for you, as the mama, this has to be really tough. But you are a strong chickie and doing really well with all of this! Sharla
Aw, poor little monkey. Loves and hugs from auntie!
Oh how I love the last sentence you wrote...so sweet! I am glad that little Henry is adjusting fairly well to this step of the process...
{It looks like you matched his new bar to his outfit...did you get to choose the colour you wanted?}
Oh my goodness....that is the cutest picture so far!
aw, what a trooper! Sweet boy!
Oh what a sweetheart! He keeps getting cuter! And you're right, eventually he'll be running and snowboarding and this will all be a distant memory. You handle all of these changes so well Cass...I could hardly deal with putting Elsie on a bottle!!!
Oh...the last post was from Cheryl...I always forget that part!
You are right, Henry will not remember anything about it. Kids are tougher than we think. He is such a sweetie.
