let the toys begin

It's time. The boy needs toys.
Yet I'm still not rushing out to buy every Fisher-Priced developmental toy out there, colorful and eye catching and strategically textured, but as you can see there are a few of the above mentioned items in the house now. (Am I a toy snob? ... um ... yeah, maybe a bit ... I just know there's got to be better than alot of what's out there ...) (Oh, and why is so many of these toy sets so darn useless and so darn ugly, answer me that!) But Little H can only have so much of Mum throughout the day and I can only sing so many made up songs ... so ... let the toys begin. When we first had his Boots and Bar put on in Saskatoon we charged right on over to the toy store, searching for a reward, a 'good, brave boy' treat. We found this not too ugly play mat ... his monkey gym for his monkey foot, if you please ... and we've enjoyed many hours since embroiled in the lives and dramas of Monkey, Giraffe, Banana, Hippo, the singing Tiki Hut, and of course the ruler over all, Rubber Ducky. And the boy loves it.

cute post - you are right about toys i totally agree with you...but there does come a time when they are good! enjoy! Henry is getting more and more "handsomer" {is that a word?} by the minute.

Too many toys equals confusion and clutter! I've noticed over the years that when they have too many toys they don't notice any of them at all. So, go ahead and be a toy snob! It looks like Henry's doing just fine with what he has...

The last pic makes me laugh! This bright and fun mat behind him while he is oh so serious! Love it!

Yes, I agree with you. I cycle out R's toys every once in a while because he loses interest until he finds them once again, stashed in his closet. I'm dreading the day he learns what video games are! How does H like tummy time?

The sad thing about toys is that ugly seems to be best...at least in Elsie's case! And the most annoying and colourful tv show seems to also be the best...so, us Moms get a little stuck sometimes!
But, your play mat is quite cute actually! What could be better than a rubber ducky?
He looks pretty adorable and happy anyway!
