As I sat down to eat our fabulous Christmas dinner I realized that I had a perfect shot of
the original family from my vantage point ... John and Diane with their three kids Suzanne, John Jr, and Sam. And to that group we've added three spouses and eight grandchildren, though Scott was quite sick this week and so stayed in Vancouver. It was a chaotic house, full of noise and food, but I know that it was all John and Diane wanted for Christmas ... everyone home. We had a bit of just-us time before John and Monica arrived at 10:30am and so we had fun finding all the presents from Santa, tipping out the stockings and playing with the new air hockey game, a perfect size for two little boys. Felix is back to being sick with a cough and runny nose - again, still - but he still had fun getting into everything, getting to know everyone and even trying out the little drum set for himself. I spent Boxing Day up in Nanaimo with my good friend Joy for a long awaited treat of seeing
Les Miserables at the theatre, meeting Joy there halfway between Courtenay and Duncan. And now that Christmas is over we have one short crazy day tomorrow before we move for good down to Victoria on Friday. My brother in law Glen is coming over to help Sam with all the heavy lifting and Sam's parents will have the kids to themselves for just over a day while we spend the night alone and set up all we can, without too much interruption. And then Saturday ... back up to get the boys and to bring them to our new house. I'm exhausted already but excited too and really, really looking forward to a brand new year next week with all new beginnings.

Thanks for the glimpse into your Christmas! I love the children's table; it brings back memories. One day Felix is going to grin like that at me (I hope!). Loved watching the movie with you. Just missed the McCain Deep 'N Delicious cake on the side.
How wonderful to see all the cousins together. I wish I could have that with my siblings, but alas not- at least for now. I can't wait for the pix to come in the new year!!
