Friday morning Sam and his dad got to it. Our entire second floor - all 4 bedrooms and hallway - are being completely gutted, as is the attic floor so that the electricians have full access. We quickly discovered why we had such a cold winter ...
there was no insulation anywhere, not even the outside walls! So what a relief to get this fixed and modernized, although - believe me - what a job for the guys! And Mom too, she's been busy lugging load after load out to our rented dumpster container, which is now quickly filling up. No signs of me in any of these pictures though, as I've either been the documentary photographer or keeping the paycheques coming at work!

Before it all began ... notice, their shirts are sparkling clean!

Work crew getting busy and getting {slightly} dirty.

Such lovely selections for wallpaper, don't you think? Both of them.

Our soon bedroom slowly coming apart. Trim and mouldings coming off.

Last look at the hideous sailing ships border.

The signs of an almost 100 year old house. Lathe and plaster galore.

And
this is the baby's room!

Somehow this has all got to get out of the house ...

The very old knob and tube wiring we're anxious to get rid of.

Safety first! - keep those masks on.

Sam the psychologist getting his
own aggression out!

Homes-on-Holmes would be so proud! I'd forgot that Sam did his first semester at BCIT taking 'CrowBar 101'. You men are doing such a fine job, I doubt the furnace will even turn on next winter. From Beirut to Beverly Hills in two weeks - looking forward to coming to see this masterpiece. Wish I was there! And Sam - try to keep up to your Dad, eh?
It only gets worse before it gets better! Maybe you'll find some $100 bills in the walls?! Thanks for stopping by my site:-)
