All 10 windows have been replaced, the floors are done (both the shiplap and the subfloor screwed down ... easily passing my persnickety 'squeak-proof' test!), and now the drywall and insulation are going up on the walls. Plus 4 days of electrical work has been done and we now have
no more old and potentially dangerous knob and tube wiring left in the house, which is wonderful! By the time Sam's parents leave on Monday morning we should be to the mudding and sanding stage of the drywalling, plus the painting, the trim and moulding, light fixtures up and wall to wall wool carpet in the middle of June. What a huge difference this will all make!

Saturday brunch at Smitty's.

The windows have arrived, so sparkly and new!

The baby's room: new window in and insulation up.

The mess of our front upper porch.

Me and The Belly finding satisfaction in the nightly clean-up.

The upper windows all replaced now...no more cold drafts and leaks!

second completely full dumpster container.

What a HUGE job! It looks great, though. Jeremy and Amy were thrilled to read about and see the pictures of the little toys you found. It's just like a George Shrinks episode they saw once!
