end of week 1

The dust has settled ... and so has all the sawdust! By Thursday all the walls and ceilings were completely gutted and all that debris, wood, and sawdust insulation from the attic floor was carted out. Garbage can by garbage can slid down the makeshift ladder out the front upper porch. Sam's Dad calculated that they've removed about 10 tons of 'house' and I believe it, from what I've seen in our 2-30 yard dumpster containers! But finally everything's down and away and the process of building up is beginning. As I type, the guys are measuring for the first of the drywall ceilings and they'll be busy with that for the entire weekend.

The Dusty Boys get their reward at the end of a long day!

Looking from the baby's room straight through to the front porch door.

In our bedroom looking to the baby's room, the hallway, and the bathroom door.

Sam up the in the attic bringing up the subfloor pieces for later.

The pot lights are up in the hallway now. What a difference from the one tiny bulb before!

Some of the shiplap cut out for the electricians to pull out all old knob and tube wiring.

The Main Man pleased with the progress so far.

Perhaps there had better be a Safety with Power Tools lesson!!

Bringing up one of the many plywood subfloor pieces through the front upper porch.
