a few words and a token Henry picture

  • Now 18 weeks pregnant ... how did that go by so fast? ... Baby is the size of a bell pepper, over 5 inches long and cute as can be, we're sure of it.
  • Someone's taking the "Early to bed, early to rise" adage just a little too seriously around here as we start hearing the wee boy usually at 5:30 am these days. This despite all efforts to block any sun from falling on his eyelids that early. 6:00 am maybe, and 6:30 am if we're lucky enough to have him fall back asleep on his own. Which was just that one time. Good grief, it's going to be a long summer!
  • Sam's taking a week off this month to tackle some house projects ... first off painting our now deep burgundy "should be a dining room/was Sophie's Winter Palace/soon to be Guest Room once Henry takes over our existing Guest Room". Can't wait to get rid of all the forest green and burgundy on our main floor, as I really dislike both those colours.
  • My parents have arrived safely in Glasgow and are already on their way out of the country, no kidding. Actually they leave today for their 3 weeks in Israel volunteering at an army base there ... a dream come true for my Dad, for sure!
  • Anyone who knows me knows that I love writing out lists ... but the point is to actually get to them, right? So my Before Baby list is constantly plaguing me these days and I know it will be a busy next 5 months for me to get what I want accomplished. Does finalizing our boy and girl baby names count?? Check!
  • We returned last night from a quick overnight trip to Regina while Sam had an Autism Seminar to attend and so Henry and I thought we'd come along and get in some shopping. Turned out to be a bit of a disaster of a morning yesterday with Henry emphatically refusing to have a morning nap at the hotel, us searching for the car in the wrong parkade for the longest time with me dragging around the stroller and luggage while snow flurries swirled around us, then me backing the car into a cement post in the right parkade once we finally called Sam out of his meeting and learned that the front desk had given me the wrong info ... um, I could go on. But let me just say, there were lots of tears on my part too but let's just chalk it up to the pregnancy hormones, shall we?
  • But, oh my, didn't Henry look sweet on the big hotel bed, keeping company with "Brown Bear, Brown Bear ..."?!

Shopping with a kid just isn't the same as shopping alone! Glad you got a trip out of town:-)

Thank goodness when can blame things on hormones....pregnancy, pms, and menopause (though not for a long time yet, we hope!).

I'm glad Henry loves his book.
