foyer? ... what foyer?

These days it's a baby gear parking lot!

Well it's time to get ready for Baby #2, what with all the fabulous shopping possibilities here in town. (insert sarcasm) No really, as with Henry, I'm needing to be organized to get what we can whenever we visit any nearby big city ... or in this case go crazy shopping online! Henry's big boy car seat and the 60/40 double stroller both arrived last week and so our foyer has been a mess of huge boxes, strollers, 2 different car seats and a huge container of outgrown clothes to boot. Good grief.

I did alot of research for both pieces and am really happy with them both now that they're here. Henry's new car seat is installed in the car now ... so the days of just transporting him around in his bucket seat are over and I've got to get used to just carrying him to and from the car. My friend Tanya just switched car seats last week too for her boy and has been in mourning over the change ever since! I think I'll soon relate.

The double stroller is a Peg Perego so that we can just click in the newborn car seat while the Baby's little ... we realized from Henry that's a must! It fits through standard doorways and is really light - amazingly light - so it will even be easy for me to get in and out of the trunk. My sister Bethany is coming out when the Baby's born to take care of Henry so having the double will be perfect then too so she can get out with Henry and Isla. Sam and I have been thinking ahead to our Christmas travels back to BC this year, groaning and nervously laughing in disbelief and the growing realization as to how it will be to fly with 2 young kids, luggage, a double stroller, a bucket car seat and Henry's big car seat.

I'm starting to sweat just thinking about it ...

What's the brand on Henry's new carseat? Is it Peg Perego too? Not that I have much choice in the matter, as we will get Brady's next seat from our Graco friend. I love the double stroller. We have one (another gift from the Graco guy) but it is bulky and heavy and huge! I will still be thankful for it (someday), but I love anything that is light and easy to maneuver!

Sounds like you guys have your hands full of gear...but isn't baby gear fun to research and pick out? :)

Also, second question, is Henry still rear-facing or is he facing front now?

Ah! My friend has the same stroller and she is totally in LOVE with it. She takes that thing everywhere.

Speaking as a seasoned traveller with Russell, either convince your in-laws to purchase a low-cost toddler carseat for the Island visits (ideal!) or else buy an Eddie Baurer car seat carrier (sturdy canvas so the airline won't kill it when you check it in).

E-mail me if you want to know more:-) Glad to see the excitement and the Belly is growing!

That looks like the same one that we got for Isla-- the Sunshine Kids?? We got the Radian65, the one that folds, is yours the same?

Yes, Beps, and for Angie ...
... the car seat is the Sunshine Radian 80 (in the States) & called Radian Premier in Canada. The seat part does fold up so you can travel with it ... but it has a steel frame so is amazingly safe. Most kids aren't ready to Forward Face until they're close to 2 years old, if not 2 or 3 years old. So we'll have it rear facing for awhile yet!

Cass and Sam,

Congratulations! Very exciting indeed! Havign two is a lot fo work but a lot of fun. Henry is so handsome! If you guys ever come to Vancouver, we would love to connect and introduce the babies to each other!

We have the 60/40 as well and LOVE IT!It's probably one of my best baby buys. Very light, easy to handle, and the girls love it that they can both sit next to each other. The other ones we looked at were just boats.

Anyways, thank you for the updates. Looking forward to meeting/reading about baby #2.

I'm wondering if this big brother could get any cuter? I think not.
