playmats and pools

We are adjusting now to this new world of Henry Playing, needing space and room and toys and fun. And as of about a half an hour ago Henry added a new talent and a new milestone to his ever growing repertoire ... Crawling! ... yes, a real, gotta-get-Mum's-book, forward moving, across the room crawl. I cried, he grinned, and then I got my book and papers out of his grasp before I hugged and kissed him silly. He's growing up so much.

We've covered our office with these colored playmats, mostly as Henry's still spitting up after eating oftentimes and so we're trying to spare our carpet in this frequented area. Turns out, it's become the place to be around here and also makes a fun, slippery area to push ol' Giraffe around - a familiar, cherished toy from my childhood.

Sam suddenly insisted yesterday that we get Henry a boy-sized pool and after a quick find at the store we had Henry splashing around in our backyard within the hour. That boy loves the water and this was about the best it gets! We'll certainly take the pool with us to Nana and Grandad's house in a few weeks and our boy can enjoy his first summer's visit to their wonderful backyard, playing under the apple tree and watching the hummingbirds zip by.

Henry:

"We're proud of you, we're proud of you, we hope that you are proud of you,
We're proud of you, we're proud of you, we're SOOO proud of you!!"

Way to go Henry!!
